What Master Data does
Most SME manufacturers carry three versions of the truth: a spreadsheet in the office, a folder of drawings and a memory on the floor. Master Data replaces that with one structured record that every module reads from.
Records carry revisions, effective dates and ownership, so a change to a part or a price is visible, dated and attributable rather than silently overwritten.
